Lets just say that I am just about ready to write off this entire year as far as airplne building progress goes. House issues have just about done me in - literally. Then there was the two months of car repairs and trailer repairs getting ready for OSHKOSH. I just got back from the big show and all I can say is that this trip is the one sure-fire thing that keeps my head in the airplane building game.
It looks like I will be right on track to start building again right about the time that winter sets in - typical.
I have a ton of video and pics and stuff to report on from Airventure, but will do that later on. Right now I am waist deep in renewing my CFI certificates by taking the King online CFI refresher course. That has to be finished by next month and so far I am well within that deadline.
I also purchased Jeppesen's new Mobile Flight Deck VFR app while at the show and I am now entering the wonderful (crazy??) world of actually flying while using Ipad cockpit operations/electronic charts for the very first time. Just today I learned the expensive IPAD that I purchased does not have built in GPS capability because I only purchased the Wireless version without the 3G/4G data plan. I already pay for one set of data plans for everyone's phones in the family and I am not about to add another outrageous monthly fee for 4G service for the Ipad. I have also since learned that I can purchase a direct plugin GPS module for the IPAD that should do the trick. Cost is only 70-100 bucks so that should not be too bad.
Anyway, for any of you lurkers out there wondering if I vanished off the face of the planet, I am still here, trying desparately to get back to building an airplane, and literally about ready to take about 5 sticks of dynamite to my house (except for the garage where the airplane factory resides, of course.)
Till next time.

Good to see the update, Bryan. Looking forward to seeing your AirVenture report. I was there this year, Tuesday to Saturday, in the campground. Wish I could have met you there...
